Dr. Amer Zaheer is an experienced physician who specializes in preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation. During his fellowship (1996-1997), he had extensive training in preventive cardiology at V.A. West Roxbury Boston, Harvard Medical School. In addition, he has worked with world renowned physicians in Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island (Brown University). During his experience as a physician, he has seen more than 20,000 patients at his practice. The patient population included Geriatric, Diabetic, Liver disease, Cancer, Pulmonary and Critical care, Infectious disease, perioperative clearance and endocrinology. In addition, he has had extensive experience in the management of patients with known cardiovascular disease, who have undergone cardiac procedures or suffered coronary events. He has expertise to manage a panel of high risk and intermediate risk patients in modifying their coronary risk factors and in the prevention and cardiac rehabilitation. He has skills in interpreting non-invasive cardiac procedures including nuclear stress tests. Furthermore, he has personally worked with world renowned physicians in the field of preventive cardiology. For the last 25 years, he has been practicing as a hospitalist and an Internist at Texas Medical center. Currently, he is the medical director of Prevention, Diagnostic and management clinic at the famous Texas medical center Houston U.S.A.

Since 1997, Dr. Amer Zaheer is the medical director of preventive cardiology clinic at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. He is involved in teaching medical students and residents from Baylor College of Medicine history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of labs, x-rays, and EKGs of inpatients and outpatients.
